Toro and the Shooting Star Guide
It just, wasn't, enough. Put on your helmets and walk through the halls of a feature that goes above and beyond the call of insanity.

Toro and his four friends Suzuki, Jun, Pierre and Ricky all hail from the original Doko Demo Issyo for PS one. They’ve been in every DDI game since, and it’s only natural to assume they won’t be leaving anytime soon. Of course this game really stars Toro, but the rest of the gang shows up pretty soon. Here’s who you may spot out and about:

Doko Demo Info

The person responsible for all of the cuteness to your right is Tomikazu Kirita, Product Marketing Manager at SCE and a supervisor on Toro and the Shooting Star. Tasked with creating a character-driven PocketStation title back in the late ’90s, Kirita got to work forming a communication game starring a cast of cute creatures. Originally Doko Demo Issyo was supposed to have up to 32 different characters, but that was pared down to 16, 8 and finally 5. Some ideas stuck, such as Suzuki — others didn’t, like an ape and a penguin, even whiskers for Toro. As for the future of the franchise, Kirita doesn’t rule out a return to the portable world, but of course he doesn’t want to say much else.
